Speaking back in mid-May, President Donald Trump revealed that he thinks there is something going on behind the scenes with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. Particularly, the president said that he has known Sen. Schumer for “a long time” and saw the senator as having changed dramatically in recent months, namely on the matter of support for Palestine.
As background, President Trump’s comments on Wednesday, May 14, came in the context of Sen. Schumer freaking out over Qatar’s royal family offering to gift the White House a Boeing jetliner, which Democrats claimed was a bribe and Trump claimed was a good deal given that Boeing is so behind on making the new Air Force One planes.
Specifically, Sen. Schumer said that he and the Democrats in the Senate would work with moderate Republicans to block the president’s judicial nominees until answers were given as to what the plane deal was all about. Trump said that those remarks showed that there was “something wrong” with Sen. Schumer.
Sen. Schumer, for his part, had claimed that the gift of a free jet for Air Force One planes was obvious and “naked” corruption that poses a major national security threat to America. He said, “News of the Qatari government gifting Donald Trump a $400 million private jet to use as Air Force One is so corrupt that even Putin would give a double-take. This is not just naked corruption, it is also a grave national security threat.”
Continuing, the woke US Senator from New York went berserk and snapped that the deal was so “unethical” that he would use it as an excuse for holding up judicial nominees. He said, “So, in light of the deeply troubling news of a possible Qatari-funded Air Force One, and the reports that the Attorney General personally signed off on this clearly unethical deal, I am announcing a hold on all DOJ political nominees, until we get more answers.”
President Trump then responded from Air Force One to those comments from the far-left senator, arguing that Schumer has changed a great deal in recent years, such as in supporting Palestine, and that something might be wrong with him. He began, “Schumer is Schumer. You know, he’s become a Palestinian. Something wrong with him? I don’t know.”
Continuing, the president added that he has known Sen. Schumer for a long time and so knows that he is different now than he used to be, both in that something unknown is wrong with him and that he is now devoid of confidence. He said, “I’ve known him a long time and there’s something wrong. He’s lost his confidence, totally. And there’s something wrong with him. I don’t know what it is with Schumer.”

A few days before that, on Monday the 12th of May, the president slammed Boeing for taking so long to make the new Air Force One, saying, “We’re very disappointed that it’s taking Boeing so long to build a new Air Force One. You know, we have an Air Force One that’s 40 years old. And if you take a look at that, compared to the new plane of the equivalent, you know, stature at the time, it’s not even the same ballgame.”
